  July 21, 2023 - Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (EBCC): Our first of three bottles, double decanted off its sediment and put back under cork four hours before it was poured as the final red of the evening. Deep color. Abundant dark fruit along with mocha, incense and chocolate. Full-bodied, with medium tannins and flavors of currants, plum, cherry cordial, chocolate and spice. Lingering finish. Very well-received by the group. Drinking well with a good bit of air, but probably better to hold a few years yet.

  June 16, 2023 - PnP vibrant red fruit, exceptional Oakville Cabernet must be at peak drinking. No sense that it's high in alcohol, well balanced.

  May 30, 2021 - This needed a really good decant. The first night it was very green with olives and bell pepper. On night two the greenness blew off and I was left with dark red fruit, and medium tannins. Tar, leather and smoked meat rounded this out. A bit rustic.

  January 30, 2021 - Last month I opened a bottle of this wine and called it one-dimensional. I decided to try one again tonight and found it to be many dimensional, with red currant, chocolate, thanksgiving spice and vanilla flavors. The cork was strong but the wine was a little cloudy and a little brick colored at the rim. With soft tannins, this was easy to drink, interesting, and quite enjoyable, but the overall impression is that this bottle—unlike the last—is well into secondary flavors and may be ready to move past its peak.

  December 19, 2020 - Sweet and mouth-filling, but a little on the simple side. I’ve enjoyed many Pedregal vintages from early 2000’s, and this one is not bad, but it’s the least interesting.
