July 14, 2011 - Double decanted over 3+ hours, this Amarone was a medium-dark ruby in the glass, with a bewitching nose of cherry, leather, dried fruits, allspice and clove. Much the same on the medium-bodied palate, with excellent acidity to give this excellent aging ability. This was a wonderful match with baked rigatoni, and more bottle age might improve this several more points.
