October 8, 2018 - Very sadly my last bottle of this. I haven’t had this wine in several years and this may be my favorite of the half case I bought. Much better than I anticipated given its age. Good notes of tart cherry, ripe strawberry, a little dirt, with a nice lingering finish. Good pairing for roasted chicken. I wish I’d opened it when I could share it with others as it’s always fun to bring a ringer to the table.

March 26, 2015 - Sadly my last bottle and my favorite so far (yet I've slacked and this is my first note—tsk tsk). I see a number of "past prime" comments, and perhaps this is a matter of taste, but to me, things are just getting good! I had an '09 single vineyard from this producer not too long ago that had me thinking we might all be overstating the quality a bit here, but this is a lovely redemption.

Pretty coloring of transparent crimson with moderate bricking. Fantastic aromatics here, which are my favorite part, of red, dark red, and dried red fruits, along with flowers/potpourri, dill, mushroom, earth, and dry leaves. Gorgeous; what a knockout! Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of red fruits, cola, spice, and mineral, the latter two lingering a bit to stretch out the impression of the finish. This kind of reminds me of the '06 Macrae Bacigalupi I recently had, and loved (which may have, incidentally, also had some "over-the-hill" commentary IIRC), showing me that some of these Cali pinots can show quite well with a bit of maturity. Well done, Brandon; I'm going to give my '09s another year or so and see what happens. Cheers. 93+ nose, 90+ palate, so 91+ avg.

November 8, 2014 - Flavors have really melded so well with strawberry and earthiness swirling on the palate. Payed to keep this one in the cellar a few years.

August 15, 2014 - Probably kept too long (and I don't have good storage). Lighter than I expected. Good fruit, considering.

(Coleman Nicole Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast) COLOR-medium; NOSE-the nose is extremely strong; a really great bouquet; love the cranberry and cherry; a nice spiciness; there's a pretty serious rhubarb component; some nicely integrated oak as well; PALATE-extremely clean and definitely well made; the initial attack is great, but it's a little young as the alcohol is showing up in the 3rd quarter of this wine along with a little oak. However, with the nice attack and the way this wine finishes, this has some very good promise with 3-4 years of cellaring; I like this wine; it's very well made; GV-89/90
