May 28, 2023 - This was huge. Of course you need an appreciation of the grape, but this was a well-made version and definitely in its window although it will be safe in the cellar for some time yet.

April 21, 2023 - Focused. Raspberry, orange peel, Andes chocolate mints. Mouth filling tannins.

November 7, 2021 - A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark black garnet in color. A full bodied red, with blackberry, black cherry, cocoa, and Asian spices on finish, decanted for a couple hours, in a good drinking zone. www.winelx.com

July 3, 2021 - First night in OCNJ with a big crew fro Rowena's bday, this wine was waiting for the right venue to be opened...:) Two magnums in my cellar from release, slow oxed for about 2 hours prior served with mild spiced bbq.

Purple/black inky color, some thinning. Big nose of black and blue fruits, bitter chocolate, graphite. Viscous palate showing blackberry, blueberry liqueur, licorice and herbs. Plush, mouth coating texture. Dark fruits persist through the mid a back palate. Full body, long finish (45+ seconds).

This is a huge wine, not stylistically for everyone but I will say the pairing with bbq (any savory meats) absolutely killed on this evening. Age has softened the texture, I recall having this wine about 7 years ago and it was much bigger/more viscous, its settled in nicely with a while to go. The slow ox was important, it needed some time to show. Outstanding wine, crowd loved it !

May 19, 2021 - Had high hopes for the Switchback PSs I bought, at a trusted friend’s suggestion, but this is the first time I’ve REALLY been grateful for the lead! Clearly coming into its own now. Still powerful, but much better balanced, with better aromatics and secondary characteristics than the others I’ve had.
