July 5, 2023 - NobleRottersSydney - Henschke (Fix, St James, Sydney): {screwcap, 14.5%} [Alan- guest] Old style Barossa red. Shiraz first, then CS, merlot and CF. Aged plums, seductive sweetly rotting strawberries. Medium weight palate, fully mature, with low furry tannins. Lots of ripeness emerges as dates and figs on the palate. Palate not so convincing as the nose – this is ready to drink.

May 13, 2023 - Colour: Crimson with a slight brownish tinge
Nose: Coffee, currents, blackberry, menthol and cedar
Palette: Blackberry, currants, marzipan, liquorice, menthol, pepper, cedar
    Very creamy finish.

Quite a big porty wine and it's finally hitting it's stride.

This is the 3rd bottle of this vintage I've consumed and the 1st I've really enjoyed.
The previous bottles have been un-integrated and quite muddled in their flavours.
Looks like all that was needed was enough time.

January 22, 2023 - Drinkable but def past its peak.

Should have consumed this many years ago (7-10 yrs max.

Not the fault of the wine, but keeping it too long has resulted in it presenting with stewed fruits that approach becoming a fortified port!

Need to drink our 2010 and 2012’s before it goes the same way.

December 8, 2022 - Not tasted. Spoke to the cellar door who advise typical drinking window for pure shiraz like this is 8-10yrs.
Suggested to drink the 2008 now.

March 29, 2019 - Enjoyed this more than I expected to. With previous bottles of this wine I have found the blend unconvincing and unbalanced. This bottle though was the complete opposite. Good balance and fully integrated feel to the wine.

    November 1, 2017 - Dark & rich
Still youthful although showing signs of some development
    Coffee, blueberry, leather
    Spicy & complex
Very very nice, wish I had more
No rush, could easily have gone for another 5 years or more & would be better for it.

August 27, 2017 - First taste was big but that eased over a few hours. Still very fruit driven and plush but balanced.

July 19, 2016 - Another consistent winner. I think I may leave this another 5-8 years to see how it develops. Well balanced, pleasant red. Bouquet of cherry, spice and vanilla. Starting to round out nicely. Smooth plum initially with some mild oak and a medium length finish with enough acid to balance everything out. Good
