December 12, 2019 - Fine complex New style Rioja. Blueberries, forest, vanilla notes. Slightly lactic notes. Nice wine.
August 20, 2019 - Nice blueberries. Good acidity backbone. Nevertheless the fruit was a little behind. Drink it within a year.
April 7, 2019 - From 75cl, perfect cork, decanted 1 hour. Aromatically closed up tight; broad dark-fruited palate with silky (French oak) tannins and crowd-pleasing acid/fruit balance. Nothing resembling complexity, but a fair degree of depth in the fruit shows that Pujanza worked hard to make the best of a poor vintage here. Look forward to trying my single bottle of the 2006 in a few years time. Overpriced, overhyped, but a well-deserved 88-90P
April 8, 2018 - Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Drunk over two days. Clear, deep purple-ruby color. Clean, medium+ youthful-developing nose that has nothing in common with classic Rioja wines and is still very fruit driven: Lost of red and black fruit, some sweetness, almost no tertiary notes. Very young and pleasant.
Dry, medium acidity. Medium+, silky tannin. High alcohol (14% abv), that is almost perfectly integrated. On the palate very expressive dark fruit, some spices and a few toasting notes. Creamy, silky, balanced and fruit driven. A serious crowd pleaser in the best sense. Medium+ finish, a bit hot in the end. Needs some time and air, so I guess it has a potential of at least 3+ years. What will happen if the fruit vanishes? Hmm, I don’t know… 90-91+. Good PQR
December 30, 2017 - Decanted for 1 hour and drank during the evening. Nice acidity, blueberries. Red cherries. Nice performance.
September 2, 2017 - Classy Rioja. Read it's supposed to be in the modern style but I found it quite classic, with loads of red cherry, spice and cigar box. Good, thick body. Quite enjoyed this.
May 27, 2017 - Fantastic aromatics and mouth-filling fruit, tar, leather, and tobacco. Drinking well right now. Pricey, but damn tasty. Paired well with grilled moose burger, green chile, and cheddar cheese sloppers with a tossed greens/vinaigrette salad.
August 28, 2016 - Some seriously good fruit here with just enough development. Juicy fresh still. Should be excellent over the next decade.
I quite like 2007 Rioja. More expressive than younger higher rated vintages.
13%ABV.
April 15, 2016 - This wine needs to be decanted. After 1 hr deep dark fruit. Already starting to show some secundair aromas. Nice acidity. Not the traditional Rioja but somewhat in between. Liked it.
May 16, 2014 - This wine is still very young. Decanted neccesary. Deep dark purple colour. Nice viscosity. Blueberries, little rustic taste. Wait for two more years to drink this wine. 100pt Prosenca each year. Don't think so......
