June 27, 2014 - Plums, cherry, macerated fig earth notes, with some heat popping on the nose, palate is relative smooth though not as elegant or complex as other vintages I have had

June 16, 2014 - Utterly shocked at how different this was from 2 other bottles we've had (in late '12 & mid '13). Same vintage, same supplier, but this time it was thinner bodied, lighter colored, more transparent & more acidic, by significant amounts, than the others. Certainly more changes than another year of age should have caused. Not flawed either. Whereas the first two were deep, rich & concentrated (think Robert Foley, but better), this time I'd swear I was drinking a hybrid style Rioja if I hadn't poured it myself. All in all it was still decent, just not the complex hedonistic pleasure bomb its siblings were.

September 1, 2013 - A concentrated port like nose, a red & some what brick like color, lush fruit almost a port like taste. A good bottle of wine the drinks more like a lite Cabernet in my opinion. Good stuff - 90.5

June 15, 2013 - Lost notes but similar description to my 5/2012 note - great with skirt steaks. 92+

April 6, 2013 - Popped and poured, paired with a ribeye and sauteed mushrooms. Not much on the nose. Dense, rich wine still showing a bit of the toasty oak. Some bell pepper without being green followed by a medium finish. Fairly complex on the palate. An enjoyable wine and a nice reminiscence of meeting Barbara last fall at the winery. Drink in the short term (2-4 years), but still going strong right now.
