April 26, 2024 - Past it’s prime but still had a bit of life left. A good amount of acid and minerality though mostly plum notes and stewed fruits. A good amount of length. This was beautiful five years ago.

February 10, 2024 - ESTG does Pegau-Palooza (Seattle, WA, USA): Mmm, deep, roasted, a sweet core, really showing the ripe aspect of the hot 1990 vintage. Sheesh, there is LOTS of structure, long, tannins showing up more over time.

August 19, 2023 - Bright and fresh strawberries and tobacco. Iron on the finish. Perfectly mature.

August 17, 2023 - overlooked too easily, lovely density and complex plums. All my previous notes holds for this bottle. Make sure to serve cellar cool though- too warm and it struggles. 95-97pts

August 3, 2023 - Light color and substantial amber rim. Bouquet had initial mushroom-fungi funk covering over some wood and cigar. Surprisingly to me, the wine significantly improved after 3 hours. Fungi-funk completely gone and some dark fruits, cigar box, leather, and a Burgundy-like feel. Score reflects the rating after the 3 hours.

August 2, 2023 - Orange-tinted red color. Sweet wild strawberries dominate the nose with a hint of orange. Notes of red berries, gripping sour acidity, a bit of funk, and lots more. Deliciois and perfectly aged and integrate.

December 31, 2022 - Very disappointing showing on this considering the sea of positive tasting notes, so perhaps this bottle was not representative. Overripe, high glycerin and lacking sufficient acidity. I feel this would have been better younger when the fruit was fresher.

September 24, 2022 - From the early era made by Laurence, a great vintage. Totally sublime and ethereal. Everchanging flavours of lavendar, dried violet, dried red berries, plum, liquorice, herbs, earth, savoury soil, animal, tobacco, herbal, mint....CDP at its very best mature form. At peak.

June 30, 2022 - Rhône or Nôwhere 2022 (Malcom, Nebraska): History in a bottle. This was Laurence’s first vintage that completely bottled and sold out and oh, what an effort it is! The fruit is so well preserved whilst the abundance of secondary characteristics well on display. Structurally sound still and very much alice. One of the oldest CdP’s I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing and just proves how special these wines really are.
