December 30, 2022 - Very nice at the 18-year mark. Up front fruit profile of red cherry, strawberry, and red plum. Notes of leather, stewed tomatoes, tobacco, and a damp earthiness to it. Nice acidity, smooth tannins, and a good long finish. Great spot right now to enjoy.

July 11, 2020 - Pretty much done. No tannins left to speak of. Translucent and bright in color. Fruit-driven. Mainly berries, raspberries, sour cherries. Medium body, medium finish. Nice and balanced. But, unlikely to improve with additional time in the cellar.

March 23, 2018 - There is certainly bottle variation, as this one— properly stored and not corked—was dried out and even after an hour in the decanter and an hour in the glass showed only the mildest hint of that sangiovese dark fruit. Tobacco, leather and sweet earth hints on the nose, but all muted. Nice dark black/ red color. Drink up.

August 25, 2017 - Perfumed aromas of marinating steak, baked dark cherry pudding with an earthiness (like a clay pit) and floral icing.

July 30, 2016 - Wow, REALLY funky nose to start, but that burned off after an hour or so.

July 29, 2015 - Brunello dinner (at Moshe Zuker): Classic BdM red-brown colour
Pleasant tertiary-earthy aromas with hints of dark cherry and light spice.
Med-full bodied, firm tannins, ripe fruity flavours, excellent acidity level, good structure and balance.
Can age nicely few up to 10 more years.

September 5, 2014 - Seattle Offline IV - Italian Wines (Henry's House (Seattle)): Cherry nose profile with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. More cherries and dark fruit on the palate. Light to medium bodied with mild tannins, but they just didn’t support the medium length finish. Very approachable, subtle, some finesse, but void of backbone or defined structure.

March 2, 2011 - Intimate Tasting of Poggio Antico's New Releases (Knightsbridge Wine Shop (Northbrook, IL)): Nose shows little more anise and rhubarb with stewed red fruit. Spicy dark cherry, maple, fig and light tar.
Palate shows less fruit. Lots of acidity, a little leaner, thinner than expected as well.
Touch more oak. Pretty but I was looking for more depth. Preferred the regular BdM.
Great nose. Tight and still young.

March 2, 2011 - Not surprisingly, fuller and more forward than the regular BdM, but manages to pull off its style nicely, with a lot of classic undertones. Dark and polished. Nice wine.
