Medium+ nose intensity with notes of vanilla, violet, black fruits, spices, toast. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. In its drinking window, will improve with ageing.

Very nice though the dark fruit was more pronounced when opened another bottle of this vinage November 2021. Drinking well now. I personally would not cellar much longer.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby colour, with fading garnet rim and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry, cassis and dark plum, kernel notes of dark chocolate, pungent spice of black pepper, sweet spice of clove, oak notes of cedar, maturity notes of savory. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, medium (+) body and medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry and cassis, sweet spice of clove, oak notes of cedar, kernel notes of coffee. The wine has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality Margaux with a reasonably intense nose showing good complexity, with elegant black fruit and spice, delicate oak but nothing overpowering, and an evolving savoury note. On the palate it is well-balanced, having nice structure and a good concentration in flavours, finishing with a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 3-5 years.

This is the best Pouget I have tasted. Previous vintages of this wine were not good at all. It's still young and should improve over the next 3-5 years. The nose and palette have black and red berries with a hint of vanilla and the finish is medium.

As user-friendly as this is, it's still carries some structure of a young bordeaux and benefits from a decant. All the pieces are there, and while it's character is neutral, it's actually quite attractive when given a chance: there's a low-dosage wet juice bomb in the middle, nice coffee and cocoa smells, and a certain composure.

Classique !

These 2009s really are quite strange in that they are so damned drinkable right now - this shows very impressive depth of creamy fruit infused with black fruit, sweet tannins and vanilla. Has the stuffing for some decent development but the doubt lingers about the lack of acidity and tannins. And is it Bordeaux? Judged on its own merits, this is a very enjoyable wine. I would struggle to nail it as French or even Bordeaux in a blind tasting though.

Drinking incredibly well now. I gave it 45 minutes before eating with cheese.
Fantastic nose. Cassis and black fruits.
Wonderful on the palate. Long finish and super smooth.
We really, really enjoyed this on a Thursday night.

Young but with decant ready to drink now. Really opens after a little over an hour with delicious dark fruit. My wife describes it as rum raisin.

Uncomplicated, easy to drink wine, without faults or excitement that already drinks well.
