Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris. Matured in wood, bottling date not specified. 16% ABV. Lovely old gold with orange tinges, not unlike a mature Cognac; fresh aromas of honey, candied fruit, orange peel, blonde tobacco and some nuttiness; on the palate satiny and refined, energetic and elegant, medium-dry, seamless, refreshing acidity, flavours of currants, dried fruit and coffee; excellent length with a lovely, dry and floral finish. Very attractive, light on its feet, not a trace of rusticity or vinagrinho. Solera matured according to the importer's website (www.bacchantes.nl) - whatever there may be of the vintage on the label.
