Sunday, April 14, 2013 - My heavens. I would not have identified this as a village wine blind. Color: Good bright full red. Nose: High pitched red cherries, flowers and spice with lower pitched notes of smoke and earth. Palate: Tangy tiny berry densely packed red fruit. Brisk, pure, elegant- an almost explosive silkiness. No stems here- just beautiful pure pinot fruit. Of note, there is what I can only describe as a hint of bubblegum- but good bubblegum, very good bubblegum. This is why I spend money on Burgundy. 3 bottles left. Should I let them lie in the cellar when it is this good right now?
