Thursday, March 9, 2006 - Having been let down by a few Vosne Romanees in the past I approached this cautiously- I suppose the lack of anticipation made it all the more enjoyable. I found this a lot more fleshy and less earthy than previous examples tasted (eg Moillard Les Malconsorts), the rich streak of minerality more than matched by extremely supple, complex fruit. Good weight and ripe tannins - the sheer elegance and poise cannot be underestimated. A really savoury, delicious glass - wine defined! I had heard all the fuss about Vosne Romanee for ages and I just couldn't get it. Until I tried this...
