Friday, February 1, 2013 - If I needed a transfusion, this would be my go-to source for plasma. Rich, softly textured, and smooth, the Bella Primitivo is provocative. Opaque, midnight ruby robe with a rose-petal meniscus. Unfiltered? Pure, ripe fruit perfectly balanced with food-friendly acidity. Pity, the Primitivo does not seem to be currently produced by the winery. Other reviewers have not been as impressed. I should thank you, for prompting me to open my only bottle. It is a tribute to the varietal. No heat, despite the 15% abv. Drink or hold (for a special occasion). BTW, Bella Vineyards is located in one of the most pristine settings in all of the Dry Creek Valley.
