90 Points

Monday, September 12, 2016 - Last noted 5/14 and the wine has barely budged since then.

Color: still medium-deep ruby -> light ruby rim. Red-fruited bouquet showing off pulped strawberries, cranberries, licorice and a hint of provencal herbs. Palate still very Grenache-dominated with red fruits dominating. Interestingly, not getting much in the way of garrigue/barnyard -- I would have thought 7 years would be enough to see something. Big for a CdR though: full-bodied midpalate, really luscious but I think the finish is only medium-long now (vs. very long 2 years ago). I'll stay by my assessment from last note that this is more akin to a California Grenache than a CdR.
