Saturday, August 27, 2011 - A very dark red to purple in colour, the nose is steeped in oak, as is the case with most of Colonial Estate's wines, there is however ripe plum and cinnamon influences that more than hold their own.

The palate shows good elegance and is lighter on it's feet than the nose suggests, with spicy dark cherry and plum slowly building in concentration as it combines with firm tannins. The finish has excellent length that is capped off by rich cedary oak.
