1996 Château Cheval Blanc

Community Tasting Note

93 Points

Wednesday, December 28, 2011 - Decanted 1/2 an hour. Medium/deep ruby core, medium pale garnet rim. Attractive, classy, aromatic nose, showing black and red berry fruit, floral notes. Medium bodied on the palate, again black and red berry fruit - mainly red fruited, but quietly complex with hints of tea and a slight note of herbs and soil. This has soft, silky refined tannins and medium, balanced acidity on the very good length slightly savoury finish. Complete, harmonious and ready to drink. Excellent/outstanding.
