Thursday, May 7, 2015 - Popped and poured. Medium yellow. Bouquet is subtle and belies the impact of this wine. Rich and spicy - a honeyed edge but the main story here is a complex interplay of acid and spice. Long final of honey and peppercorn. Great interest but will be heavy handed for some. I found the alcohol noticeable on the final and was surprised to see it at 14.5% on the label.

Big wine and to my tastes very enjoyable. We paired this with a cheese fondue and it was OK, although I think something with more apparent fruit would have been a nicer pairing. I could see this playing very nicely with a Massaman curry with lamb.
