Saturday, August 11, 2007 - Surprisingly deep color with few signs of development. Nose marked by saddle leather, then cassis and tobacco. Secondary bouquet only comes up at the end of the bottle, some 4 hours after it was opened. Large scaled in the mouth with some sweetness of fruit restrained by a good amount of tannin yet to be resolved. Seemed more like a left bank wine in many ways and not lush at this point. Clearly very young; my only question about its potential is whether it will turn out to have excessive levels of brett.
