92 Points

Friday, February 20, 2015 - Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Very light dull crimson, aged pale rim with orange hues; classic old school CdP, called Pegau off of first scent, cranberry, sour cherry, red radish, vegetal, tertiary; strong bitter Grenache on the palate, tart fruit, balanced by the vegetal and spicy notes, Brett was in check; well stored, called 2001 Pegau, one of the better balanced '98s; very good but seemed much more austere, on a different day with different accompanying wines I possibly could have given this a 93.
