Saturday, November 12, 2011 - Tasted at K&L Campanile Rioja tasting, this was at the Golden State table. By far the best table of the entire tasting. Their thoughts: "In the very best vintages, La Rioja Alta designates Ardanza as a "Reserva Especial;" This has only happened two other times, in 1964 and 1973. The current release is the 2001 Reserva Especial, a deeply colored wine with a lovely perfume of cinnamon, lavender, incense, balsamic and black cherry. Medium-bodied, velvety textured and already complex."
