Friday, June 8, 2012 - Popped and poured, some bricking around edges, big nose, but first taste was disappointing, seemed too tannic relative to fruit, two hours in it definitely improved with time, tannins still overwhelm the fruit, but dark fruits are there, and tannins seem tamer with exposure to air. Still expecting excellence given the source, vintage and the rave writeup in the NYT couple months back, did not get it. Right now its a decent wine with food, hopefully can improve with age.
