Tuesday, January 15, 2013 - Wonderful nose of spicy, earthy cherries with hints of old wood, dill and mint. Needed time to open and then intense on the palate with flavors of dried cherry, earth, green stalk and wood. High-toned and quite juicy with firm acidity and grippy tannins with complex spice notes on the finish. Still young but this is relatively fruit-forward for a traditional Rioja with a bright future.
