Friday, March 7, 2014 - Decanted for an hour and a half before drinking. On initial pour into decanter there was some leather and earthy quality but nothing else. The wine has a somewhat dark garnet center edging out to a dark amber. After the decant this one had a lot more fruit singing. Some saddle leather, orange peel, strawberry, spice and a hint of plum and underbrush. Still some tannin hanging in there and a touch of acid and some tartness. A nice complex character to this wine with some layers. Not the longest finish ever but a pleasant one. And a decent mouthfeel to it. I have two more bottles and would say I am drinking them up within 3 years.
