Friday, May 23, 2014 - Decanted 1 hour (needs 2 hours, really), sampled over 2 additional hours. Feels younger than 13 years old. Strawberry and a hint of cranberry at first, give way to licorice and fig. Best after 2 hours. Good depth. Traditional, impressive wine. Just beginning to blossom. I'd drink my remaining bottles over the next 10 years.
Slightly restrained and not as vivid as the Castillo Ygay 2004 we had yesterday but that's probably comparing apples and oranges.... There's room for both, but perhaps not side by side.
