95 Points

Friday, July 26, 2013 - Dark ruby/purple color with a floral nose of forest floor, anise, dried berries and smoke. The palate is a bit softer, milder compared to the 2009 and the 2007, and I would suspect earlier approachability compared to those two previous vintages. Flavors of kirsch, currant, and cherries are wrapped in this gorgeously silky textured red that finishes long and spicy with hints of smoked meat, Provencal herbs, and vanilla. This will be great to pair with food. Beautifully balanced and approachable with a couple of hours decanting, but would be best drunk from 2014 to 2024.
