Friday, July 29, 2016 - Splash pour...wish I had decanted. Initially, the nose is blackberry and blackcurrant. Consistent with the rich, meaty, cassis and blackberry flavors and subtle black pepper on the back end. Big bold stuff...not for the faint of heart. The wine is full bodied, has a juicy texture and a long finish. After a couple of hours, I was enjoying it even more as things settled down and became a bit more integrated/approachable...dare I say more friendly. Will pop the next bottle in a few years to see how it develops. Scores will be higher for sure.
