91 Points

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 - A little plummy and muddled in its fruit, but this is still the classic Carlisle Dry Creek Zinfandel. "Brooding" it says on Mike's website, and that's what strikes me, along with its earthiness. Boisterous, brambly, big and lip-smacking delicious, especially for the price. This is longer than I normally notice from this bottling, and has the beautiful balance of ripe bright fruit and tasty oak, in just the right proportions. Another winner!
