Wednesday, November 12, 2014 - This is fantastic, full throttle Syrah. Dark purple with a brooding nose of blackberry liqueur, black currant, graphite, charcoal, and hints of smoke. The palate is expansive with dark fruit, mineral, and violet. The tannins are really well integrated and while this clearly has the structure to go for a while, it is really incredibly good right now. Clape is without a doubt one of the best in the Northern Rhone and this shows clearly why.
