Friday, April 6, 2007 - A fine effort here. Nose is very alive, lots of black licorice, some medicinal qualities along with deep earth minerals/dirt. I'm having a hard time describing this one, much different than most syrah's I've tasted, but, it's a good wine and I'm enjoying it. The structure and balance are in harmony, the tannin is still there and makes me think it should be drunk before 2010, but, will hold until then if you are in no hurry. Nice mid palate and finish has some lingering alcohol, but, it's not overwhelming. The fruits are classic dark berries, plum, currant wth a hint of eculyptus. Enjoyable bottle of wine.
