Friday, July 10, 2015 - Color: medium deep ruby core -> medium dark ruby rim. Decanted and tasted over the course of 4+ hours, this demonstrated what I've come to think of as the 'classic' QC bouquet of blackberry liqueur, cassis and a touch of freshly ground black and white pepper. Palate showing mineral elements, along with noted blackberries, pepper and cassis (I just don't find those earthy elements others allude to). Sorry, but I guess I'm one of the naysayers out there that find this profile just isn't what I'm looking for in a Bordeaux blend. Good midpalate and acidity and a nice, long finish -- a very well made new-world Cabernet showing specific QC character -- this just isn't in my wheelhouse. Really not bad at all (though the 15.2% alc is apparent), would just rather have a nice second or third growth . . . .
