90 Points

Wednesday, June 8, 2016 - Arguably the most prestigious of Meursault 1er Crus (should be a Grand Cru) Les Perrières in the Ballot version is a very good Chardonnay.
Color is bright straw yellow.
The nose opens w/white flowers, green apple, pear then hazelnut, grapefruit, lemon & some white truffles all wrapped in a fresh mineral nuance.
In the mouth the initial softness gives way to tasty flavors of lemon, citrus & toasted note.
A white wine made to last, well balanced, w/good structure, a strong mineral note (the Name Perriéres, says it all) & good freshness.
Its medium persistence is the only weak point
