2001 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon

Community Tasting Note

93 Points

Sunday, June 24, 2012 - purple garnet. Nose was that sweet Shafer nose that is so prominent to me in the Hillside. Berries galore. Taste was middle aged, mellow, rich, mouthfilling. I went to a tasting years ago and a subtext was Shafer HSS versus the regular Shafer. My impression was that in great years there isn't a huge difference. This continues to confirm this.
