Friday, April 3, 2015 - A Good Friday (Chicago, IL): Botrytis and gooseberries. What a funky combination. Super rich nose coupled with a racy and green palate makes for a really interesting wine. Racy with good acidity, and a nice mineral tone to it, despite its heavier fruit character. Quite rich, this coats the palate with a thick luscious texture. A well-crafted bottle of sauvignon blanc, if it isn't the most traditional.
