Sunday, February 15, 2015 - Decanted for an hour and then drank over two hours in pinot specific stemware. First, the good stuff. Found the '08 Evenstad to be a nicely balanced pinot. Nice legs in the glass, balanced acidity, etc. Smooth & round on the palette with notes of cherry, strawberry, & some earthy, mushroom notes. A nice OR pinot.

However, if I was blind tasting this, I would have identified it as a $25 - $30 pinot. In reality it costs more than twice that and just doesn't offer enough wow factor to justify the high price tag. Perhaps another vintage would offer more however I would need to taste it first before dropping relatively big $$ on another Evenstad reserve pinot.
