Thursday, April 16, 2015 - Still getting my sea legs, so to speak, with the northern Rhones. This was a very nice experience, while some other producers have been a great disappointment; especially after the hype they received from the critics. Maybe just bad/flawed bottles. In any case, this Guigal was very solid and I finally have a good appreciation and sense of what is being described when the word "meat" is used in a good way to characterize the nose of northern Rhones. Enjoyed the fruit and the complexity of the nose.
