Thursday, January 24, 2013 - Deep purple in the glass. A wonderful nose which combines some old world Rhone earth and forest floor notes with some new world stewed blackberries and plums. Full bodied and high alcohol with nice acidity that keeps it crisp. An initial attack of wild blackberry and wild blueberries as well as some vanilla and cloves. While the nose and initial attack are fantastic, I have an issue with the finish. The fruit fades after 10 seconds and I was left with an out if balance finish, dominated by alcohol.
