Tuesday, December 16, 2014 - The nose shows dusty black fruits with some red fruit undertones. Entry is sweet and ripe, but soon after, the tannins clamp down hard and create a strong pucker in the mouth. More modern than I expected, this tastes to me like a Sonoma answer to less opulent vintages of Rivers-Marie cab. Needs time but a bargain at the $40 price tag; alas, I don't think Morgan makes this anymore. 91 with potential for upside as the tannins resolve.
