92 Points

Tuesday, April 5, 2016 - Deep ruby red, no lightening at the rim. Aromas of melted fudge, plums and spices jump out of the glass. In the mouth, this medium- to full-bodied St Emilion showcases a combination of red and black berries, herbs and dark chocolate. This bottle is clearly at peak, with tannins largely resolved. However, there is no sense that the wine will fall apart anytime soon. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this drinks well for another decade or so. 15 years of bottle age have effectively eliminated youthful oak and rough edges, and what is left is a quintessential right bank wine with nothing out of place -- a wine of true pleasure. 92.
