Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - Interesting trying this back-to-back with the 09 3 Year Select. The fruit is the same with matching yellow apple, strong minerality and light-medium acidity. The difference is in the barrels. This has a nice butterscotch as the label suggests, but not the vanilla/creamy texture many new oak barrels contribute. No or partial malolactic fermentation? I do like the 3 Year Select slightly better and think it has better aging potential though this is still drinking well.
