Friday, February 8, 2013 - I agree with the recent consensus here. The taste profile is similar to Amarone because of the Ripasso method used in a percentage of the grapes for this offering.
Overall, this wine tastes great, similar to a dry Port. Lot's of dark smoked fruits, purple berries, and some earthiness. I found the acid low, however, which leads to a somewhat flabby and shortish finish.
