Thursday, September 18, 2014 - Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle Vertical Tasting 1969 - 2010 (Regional Wines and Spirits, Wellington, New Zealand): Ruby hue with some bricking. The extraordinary nose is not yet fully resolved but is aromatic and forthcoming. It features a brilliant floral quality, fresh oak, almost Burgundian fruit quality and a nice spice character. Beautiful and superb in the mouth - massive and savory, high in acid, nuance of forest floor, tobacco and superb length. This is the most Burgundian wine on the table tonight, and a great Hermitage.
