Tuesday, April 14, 2015 - Pichon vertical with 16 vintages. We had a long time, but many wines so some (especially the 2000s ) were harder to differentiate. This is a big, young wine that became more attractive after several days. Dark purple with berries and some earthy smells. This is less of a claret then the older wines. It is hard to imagine that this wine will be like the lovely vintages of the 60s and 80s since it seems more fruit concentrated, oak influenced and less structured. Still it seems like more positive development may come and perhaps someone in 50 years will be declaiming its elegance.
