Saturday, January 10, 2015 - Dinner at the house, cooked Goose for the first time. Raspberry/Jalapeno Sauce, Lobster Mac & Cheese and roasted root veggies.
We’ve always found this winery to be pretty consistent and a great fall back if you’re looking for a crowd pleaser. The wines (04 – 06) all straight from bottle – pull cork & pour - are drinking very well. Mellow, but still good presence of tannins to keep the fruit from getting out of hand. Soft finish, dry but not parching. Colors were still deep for 05 & 06, while 04 has developed some onion skin I have another 04 that’ll be gone soon, as for 05 & 06 I think there’s still some decent bottle time. So drink up, but don’t be in a hurry
