Monday, July 11, 2011 - France 2011 - Côte d'Or; 7/8/2011-7/13/2011 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. This cuvee sees approximately 15-20% new oak and 50% of the bunches were destemmed. The vines were planted in 1922. This has a very nice nose of dark fruit, spice and floral notes. Deep and ripe flavours with good acidity and a fairly long earthy finish. Nicolas says this cuvee is always deeper and more complex than regular Bourgogne level wines and I would agree. This will be even better in 3-5 years. Very good. 88+
