95 Points

Friday, June 13, 2008 - Drank this along side a 97 BV GDL in the battle of the vintages. This one was significantly more youthful, showing the ageability of the 99's. This was terrific, nose of cherry and vanilla bean, with hints of dusty oak. Palate was full bodied and youthful, with still mildly austere tannin structure, loads of cherry, cassis, and hints of earth and sage. Finish was long, and balance was tremendous. Edged out the 97 GDL which was starting to show its age.
