91 Points

Monday, December 29, 2014 - A curious wine to be sure, I can see why some would describe it as 'dirty' given the notes of eucalyptus, dried leaves, coffee, and smoked black cherry and the significant tannin and acid base that benefits from prolonged aeration -- but well within the mainstream of Campagnian/Italian wine. The elegance Galloni reports didn't show up until well into day 2, but at this point it does feature deceptive power that combines almost silky ash and red fruit. This would be wonderful with anything with roasted tomatoes. Could be a knockout in a few years I suppose but a 95 in the here and now seems excessive.
