Saturday, April 7, 2012 - We tasted this on our last visit to the winery, April 2011, and I recall a bright, perfumed and pleasing wine. I was quite surprised to see this on the shelf at a local wine shop on the Upper West Side, when I strolled in needing a bottle for an evening stay in Manhattan. Dark fruits on the palate, reminiscent of Pinot Noir as others have noted below, with cranberry and cherry and a little forest floor, with hardly any noticeable tannin, but a notable measure of underlying acidity. The wine was even more impressive on the second night, with the palate more focused, and while the pillowy, tannin-less palate was round and smoothly contoured, the underlying acidity was significant and imparted a lip-smacking finish. I don't have enough experience with Jura wines to make a comparison, but I will have good memories of this wine.
