Friday, June 10, 2011 - Just in the barrel for a few months, already starting to integrate. Beautiful dark purple color with a ruby glow. Nice fruit with black berry, currant, licorice and dark chocolate supported with another layer of complexity at the back end, showing some cedar, tobacco, mocha components. A little disjointed, but very together at this stage considering it's a barrel sample from the 2010 vintage. Full-bodied palate, with lots of fruit, chocolate and a little bit of the chalky and dusty thing going on at the back end. Very well made wine, and the potential upon bottling is going to be huge!!! Quite impressive from a small, boutique producer!
