Friday, June 8, 2012 - Youthful purple. Nose closed at first. Decanted 1hr. Layer upon layer of dark fruits. Just a hint of sweet smoke...new oak? Didn't think they used oak here...Very approachable for a young Cabassaou. Primary, but delicious. Long finish. Excellent.

I was at Tempiers for a few years ago, and they are basically using bariques, but a mix of old and new. I do not remember The exact propotion b/w old and new on The Cabassaou.
How would you rate it?

Thank you for the info. I hope to visit them sometime soon. I would rate Tempier wines as my favorites. The Cabassaou is always super impressive, but benefits from lots of time in the cellar.
